The Colonel’s fate, for example, is intentionally much more disgusting. Violence runs more more rampant in the Kick-Ass 2 comic than it does in the movie. Red Mist, from the first comic series, enlists a “super villain” team, which then causes the town to outlaw all people wearing masks (reminds you of Watchmen, doesn’t it?) Kick-Ass joins a “super hero” team, for better or for worse. Hit-Girl’s mom is alive and marries the investigating officer (from the first comic) which means that her step-dad is around to make sure that she stays out of trouble. Our favorite characters, Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl, have returned. The Kick-Ass 2 comic story is similar to the movie plot, but the story is told much better in the comic. Although essentially the same plot, key differences and storytelling make it worth reading. I can tell you right now that it is far more interesting, and plausible, then the movie. If you had seen the Kick-Ass 2 movie, then you may have been curious about the Kick-Ass 2 comic book.
